OTX Logistics awarded with AEO Certificate!

The new Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) certificate apply to all companies who have their registered office in the EU and who participate in the logistical chain with regard to the transport of goods from and to the European Union. The certificate was introduced to make the logistical chain safer. As a European response to CTPAT in the United States it is therefore also aimed against terrorism.

By obtaining the AEO status, OTX Logistics is allowed to use a “green lane”, so that goods can pass the EU borders almost without hindrance. Because of our AEO status we are subjected less to physical inspection by the customs. We will be told in advance that inspections will take place and we will be given priority with inspections.

OTX Logistics is happy with the AEO certificate and the benefits it brings for its customers. Inge van Beem (internal AEO application supervisor): ‘This is a tangible result of our efforts to ensure that our business processes are running even more securely and efficiently ─ an aspect our organization pays a lot of attention to anyhow. In this respect, obtaining the AEO certificate is not our ultimate goal but rather a motivation to continue on our mission to achieve further improvements.’
